Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 29, 2026

1) Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how MyVehicle ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the MyVehicle mobile application (Android and iOS) and our website at vehicleservice-9abed.web.app.

By using MyVehicle, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app and website.

2) Who We Are (Data Controller)

MyVehicle is operated by DIYOMX (application package: com.diyomx.myvehicle).

For privacy-related requests, contact us at support@myvehicle.app. We aim to respond within 1–2 business days.

3) Scope

This policy applies to:

• The MyVehicle app • Our official website and legal pages • Optional features that rely on third-party services (ads, subscriptions, store updates)

Third-party services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them when you use those features.

4) Summary — Local-First by Design

MyVehicle is built as a local-first vehicle log. The vehicle profiles, fuel logs, maintenance records, expenses, photos you attach, and most app settings are stored on your device — not on our servers.

We do not operate automatic cloud sync between devices. You may optionally export a JSON backup and save or share it yourself (e.g. Google Drive, iCloud, Files).

5) Information You Provide

Depending on how you use the app, you may enter or store:

• Vehicle details (make, model, year, odometer, fuel type, tank capacity, unit preferences) • Fuel fill records (date, odometer, liters, price, receipts/photos) • Maintenance and service logs (title, cost, dates, intervals, workshop notes, photos) • Expense entries (amount, category, notes, receipts) • App preferences (language, theme, fuel display format, security lock settings)

You control what you enter. Accuracy of your records is your responsibility.

6) Information Collected Automatically

We may collect limited technical information necessary to run and improve the app:

• App version and build number • Device type and operating system version • Language and locale settings • Basic diagnostic or crash information if enabled by your platform or SDKs • Ad interaction signals when ads are shown (see Section 9) • Subscription and purchase status via the app store and our subscription provider (see Section 10)

We do not collect precise GPS location for core app features.

7) Device Permissions

MyVehicle may request the following permissions when you use related features:

• Internet — ads, subscription verification, in-app updates, opening legal links • Camera / Photo library — attach receipt or vehicle photos; optional odometer or receipt scanning • Biometric authentication (Face ID / fingerprint) — optional app lock on resume • Secure storage — store lock preferences locally

You can deny permissions; related features may not work until permission is granted.

8) Local Storage, Backups & Deletion

Core data is stored locally on your device using on-device storage (Hive and related local databases).

Export: Pro users can export JSON (and CSV/PDF reports) from the device. You choose where backup files are saved or shared.

Import: Restoring a backup replaces local data on that device.

Delete: You can delete individual logs or wipe all app data from Settings. Uninstalling the app removes local data from your device unless you have backups elsewhere.

For additional deletion guidance, see our Delete Data page.

9) Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version may display ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect or receive device identifiers, IP address, ad interaction data, and similar signals to deliver and measure ads.

In regions where required (e.g. EEA/UK under GDPR), we use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request consent for personalized ads. You can change ad privacy choices anytime in Settings → Ad privacy choices.

10) Subscriptions & Payments

Pro features may require a paid subscription processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We use a third-party subscription service to verify entitlements.

Payment information is handled by the app store — we do not receive your full card details. Our subscription provider may receive purchase tokens, product identifiers, and subscription status linked to an anonymous app user ID.

Apple privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

11) On-Device Processing (OCR)

When you scan a receipt or odometer photo, text recognition may run on your device using Google ML Kit. Images you choose are processed locally for extraction; we do not upload your receipt photos to MyVehicle servers for this feature.

12) Other Third-Party Services

Depending on your device and settings, the app may interact with:

• Google Play In-App Updates (Android) — check for app updates • App store billing systems — purchases and restores • System share sheet / file picker — export and backup files you control

Each provider processes data under its own terms and privacy policy.

13) How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Provide fuel, maintenance, and expense tracking features • Generate dashboards, reports, reminders, and health scores • Show ads in the free tier (with consent where required) • Validate Pro subscriptions • Improve stability, fix bugs, and respond to support requests • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information.

14) Legal Basis (GDPR / UK GDPR)

Where GDPR applies, we rely on:

• Contract — to provide the app and features you request • Legitimate interests — security, fraud prevention, product improvement, and non-intrusive analytics • Consent — personalized advertising where required, and optional permissions (camera, biometrics) • Legal obligation — when we must retain or disclose data under law

15) Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell personal data. We may share limited data with:

• Service providers that help us operate the app (ads, subscriptions, hosting of the public website) • App stores for billing and compliance • Authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety

Vehicle and log data you enter stays on your device unless you export or share it yourself.

16) International Data Transfers

Third-party providers (e.g. Google and our subscription and ad partners) may process data in countries outside your own. Where required, they use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

17) Data Retention

Local app data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.

Support emails and operational records may be kept as long as needed to resolve your request and meet legal requirements.

Ad and subscription partners retain data according to their own retention schedules.

18) Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data processed by our services. Optional app lock uses your device's biometric or device credential APIs.

No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure. You are responsible for securing exported backup files you store elsewhere.

19) Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, or object to certain processing of your personal data.

Because most vehicle data is stored locally, you can access, edit, or delete it directly in the app. For requests related to third-party processing or support records, email support@myvehicle.app with enough detail for us to verify your request.

EEA/UK users may lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.

20) California Privacy Notice (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents may have rights to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. MyVehicle does not sell personal information. To exercise rights, contact support@myvehicle.app.

21) Children's Privacy

MyVehicle is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided data, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

22) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you have reviewed the revised policy.
